Quick Start Guide
Get up and running with Untrace Wallet in minutes.
Step 1: Install the Wallet
Download Untrace Wallet from our official sources:
- Browser Extension: Chrome, Firefox, Brave
- Mobile App: iOS and Android (coming Q4 2025)
- Desktop: Windows, macOS, Linux
Step 2: Create Your Wallet
- Click "Create New Wallet"
- Write down your 12-word recovery phrase
- Store it securely offline — never share it with anyone
- Verify your phrase by selecting words in order
- Set a strong password for local encryption
Step 3: Fund Your Wallet
Deposit from Exchange
- Copy your deposit address (this is a one-time use address)
- Send funds from your exchange or existing wallet
- Wait for confirmation (varies by network)
- Funds automatically enter the shielded pool
Bridge from Another Chain
- Select "Bridge" from the menu
- Choose source chain and asset
- Follow the cross-chain transfer flow
- Assets arrive pre-shielded
Step 4: Understanding Your Dashboard
Privacy Score
Your dashboard displays a Privacy Exposure Score for each asset:
- Green (0-20): Fully shielded, maximum privacy
- Yellow (21-50): Good privacy, minor exposure
- Orange (51-80): Consider refreshing
- Red (81-100): Exposed, refresh recommended
Actions
- Shield: Move exposed funds into shielded pool
- Refresh: Re-anonymize partially exposed assets
- Reveal: Generate proof of ownership for compliance
Step 5: Making Transactions
Private Transaction
- Click "Send"
- Enter recipient address
- Enter amount
- Select privacy level (Standard or Maximum)
- Review and confirm
DeFi Interaction
- Click "Connect" on supported dApps
- Untrace generates a disposable wallet
- Interact normally with the protocol
- Funds return to shielded pool after
